Publish the book to the crew

The short version
- Pick a link name and the sections, set a PIN if you want one, and Publish.
- Zone links give every zone its own page, with QR cards to tape inside each rack.
- Auto-publish updates the crew page about a minute after each save.
- Rig notes give the show and every zone one live list, with To-Dos each zone marks Got it, then Done.
- Check-offs, problem flags, guest sign-ups and rig notes all come back to you.
01What the crew gets
A read-only page at netmap.show/publish/your-handle/your-show: a searchable IP schedule, cable pulls, port maps, rack elevations with the 3D orbit, the site plan and riser sheets, validation, and the PDF and workbook downloads. No app, no account. Pick which sections ride along; the Publish tab keeps each group folded to its one-line summary until you open it.
02A page per zone
On a show with zones, zone links publish a crew page per zone holding only that zone's racks, cables and addresses. Keep them current automatically, put a password on one, take one down, copy every link at once, and print QR cards for the racks.
03The crew works from it
Tick the crew tools and pull sheets become tap-to-check with live progress, and any row can be flagged with a problem. Guest LDs can claim the IPs, universe chunks and dry lines you left open, or request ClearCom and ShowKontrol. Tick Rig notes and the show page and every zone page share one live list of rig issues. All of it comes back to the publish row in the app.
04Rig notes
One live list for the whole show. Crew chiefs write from their zone page, the design team and network admins see every zone from the show page, and the control room can keep it up on a wall.
- Notes by zone, channel first. A note goes to one zone, several zones, All zones or the whole show. Type a channel and the note leads with it, CH 205, then the fixture and where it hangs, with the DMX address and node underneath, all filled in from that zone's MVR. Thru and + type ranges and lists, CH 330-336. If a note is already open on that channel, the sheet shows it, and Add to it puts what you typed on that note as a reply. Six fault words, Dead, Wrong address, Wrong mode, No data, No power and Pan / tilt, make most notes three taps. All zones leaves out control locations, which you can still pick by name, and Show stop marks the rare one with a small red tag.
- For. Any note, on any page, can be For a role. It highlights the note without hiding it from anyone, and For me filters the list to your role.
- To-Dos. A To-Do is a note every zone on it confirms: Got it when someone has it in hand, then Done, with a photo if it helps. A note for two or more zones starts as a To-Do. It closes itself once every zone is Done, and the design team can Send a zone back with a reason.
- Ask design. A zone sends the design team a question, and the answer comes back on the same note. It reads Waiting on design until design answers, then Answered, and only the zone or the person who asked can send it back to Waiting on design. Ask design appears once the show has a design PIN.
- Replies and photos. Every note has replies. A photo can go on a note, a reply or a Done: the phone shrinks it, and the location and other details hidden in the file are removed before it is stored. Each show holds up to 1 GB of photos.
Who needs what. Anyone can post a note or a To-Do for their own zone, and crew need no password to write, reply or confirm. If a zone page has a PIN for its paperwork, that is all they enter. The first time, they type a name and pick a role, and the phone remembers both. A note for several zones or the whole show is closed by the design team or from the show page; on a zone page, reply to add to it. The design team and network admins post to any zones, close any note and answer questions with the design PIN: six digits you set in the Rig notes window on the desktop, entered on the show page.
On every tab. A quiet line under the header says what changed since you last looked and what is waiting on your zone; tap it to open Rig notes. On it shows how long ago someone took a note. After 4 hours it dims, and anyone else can Take it over. Each note keeps a short history line, On it, Fixed, Reopened, with who and when. On a weak signal the page says it is showing a saved copy, never an old list as new.
The control room wall. Wall view on the show page opens a full-screen board: a column per zone, the open To-Dos along the bottom with where each zone stands, refreshed about every 10 seconds. A new note gets a thin outline and stays in sight, and a Just fixed line lists the channels fixed in the last half hour. It remembers the show PIN for 30 days, so a screen in the control room can stay on it.
On the desktop. Rig notes on the show's publish row opens the whole show by zone. Post notes and To-Dos to any zones, answer questions, send a zone back, set the design PIN, and print a punch list PDF or Excel with a Zone column, the To-Dos and the open questions. New rack, device and cable labels open the page of their zone.
On iPhone and iPad. In netmap for iOS, turn on Quiet rig notes banners for a saved crew page and you get a silent banner when a To-Do is waiting on that page's zone, or when the design team answers a question from your phone or your zone. It is off until you turn it on, makes no sound and never fires for a show stop: the radio is still the way to call one.
It works the same on any show. Without zone links the whole show is one list, with the same To-Dos, questions, replies and wall.
05You stay in control
Publishing only happens when you do it (or when you turn auto-publish on). Links live 14 days and extend from the app; downloads say which revision they came from; you can take a page down at any time.
A show whose crew is using rig notes keeps itself open, 7 days at a time, up to 60 days after you first published it, and you get a warning 3 days and 1 day before it stops. Take a zone link down and its rig notes stay on the show, unless you tick Also delete this zone's rig notes.
